14 years and counting
We're from here
HQ was founded in Ogden in 2012. We've spent 14 years building software for Utah businesses, from healthcare systems managing over a million patient visits a year to startups pitching in Silicon Slopes to global manufacturers with North American headquarters in our backyard.
We live here and hire here, and our longest relationships are with Utah companies in healthcare, tech, finance, and manufacturing. Fourteen years in one market teaches you which of a client's problems are actually local ones.
Built for Utah
Utah companies we've built for
Revere Health
Utah

WGU Labs
Salt Lake City, Utah
The innovation arm of Western Governors University, headquartered in Salt Lake City. We built platform tools supporting a portfolio of 28 companies and 180,000+ learners.

Where we work
Serving all of Utah
We're based in Ogden and serve clients across the Wasatch Front and beyond, Salt Lake City, Provo, Lehi, Park City, St. George, and everywhere in between. Most of our work is collaborative, not location-dependent, which means wherever your team is in Utah, we can work together.
We also serve clients across the Mountain West, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, and Arizona. But Utah is home, and always has been.

Questions about working with a Utah software agency
Yes, at 2411 Kiesel Ave, Suite 501 in Ogden. Matt and Zarin founded HQ here in 2012 after Weber State, and 14 years later we're a 25-person team that still lives and hires in Utah. Most of our closest client relationships are with Utah companies: Revere Health, one of Utah's leading physician-owned multi-specialty networks; Autoliv, the global automotive safety leader with North American headquarters in Ogden; and Nomi Health, the Lehi direct care company that raised a $110M Series A. Fourteen years in one state is most of what we'd point to if you're deciding between us and an agency somewhere else.
Revere Health, one of Utah's leading physician-owned multi-specialty networks, with 400+ providers and 1.17M patient visits a year. Nomi Health in Lehi, which raised a $110M Series A and serves 30,000+ Americans a day across 200+ sites. Autoliv, the global automotive safety leader with North American headquarters in Ogden, at $10.4 billion in annual revenue. Parallel, a Utah startup backed by Peak Capital and Night Capital, which raised $4.25M across pre-seed and seed rounds on a prototype we built. WGU Labs in Salt Lake City, the innovation arm of Western Governors University, where we built platform tools supporting 28 portfolio companies and more than 180,000 students. Plus a long tail of Utah companies in healthcare, manufacturing, technology, and education. Several of those are ongoing monthly retainers rather than finished projects, which is the shape most of our best relationships take.
Yes, and Parallel is the clearest example. Their founding team, backed by Peak Capital, Night Capital, and founders from Spiff, Weave, and Divvy, came to us before a line of production code existed. We built the prototype that made the idea tangible to investors, and they raised $4.25M across pre-seed and seed rounds. We know what a Silicon Slopes demo has to survive, and how fast a founding team needs to move to make the next meeting. Worth saying plainly though: a prototype doesn't raise a round on its own. Theirs was a good idea with a team that could sell it, and what we did was give them something real to put on the screen.
Yes. Most of our AI work is fitting it into software a company already runs: internal copilots and workflow automation, and retrieval over your own documents so answers come from your data instead of the open internet. We start on managed models from OpenAI or Anthropic and wrap whichever one wins in a layer you can swap later, so you're not locked to one vendor. You usually don't need your own GPU cluster, and we only add dedicated infrastructure when the return is clear. The clearest example on our site is Identifyd, an AI-powered recruiting platform we designed and built end to end, where a recruiter describes a role and the product surfaces and ranks candidates.
Yes, and it's one of the AI services we offer. If you have a prototype built with Lovable, Bolt, Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT, or a weekend hackathon project, we turn it into software a business can rely on. A prototype like that is usually good at showing the idea. What it tends to be missing is the part a demo never tests: security, performance, the infrastructure it runs on, and an architecture the next developer can follow. That's the work we take on. We're in Ogden, so for Utah founders the first look at what you've built can happen in a room instead of a screen share, and we'll tell you whether it's worth hardening what you have or cleaner to rebuild parts of it.
All of it. Our office is in Ogden, and we work with companies in Salt Lake City, Provo, Lehi, Park City, St. George, and Logan. Most of our work doesn't depend on where anyone sits, so your team can be anywhere in the state. If you'd rather meet in person, Ogden is 30 to 60 minutes from most of the Wasatch Front. We also work with clients across the Mountain West in Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, and Arizona, though Utah has been home since 2012.
Custom web and mobile development, UX design, AI product development, product strategy, and website design and build. We cover the whole lifecycle, from early strategy and wireframes through launch and the years after it, so you're not stitching three agencies together. For Utah companies we've delivered patient apps, enterprise internal tools, AI-powered recruiting platforms, white-label marketplaces, and marketing sites across healthcare, EdTech, manufacturing, and technology. Several Utah clients run on ongoing monthly retainers, which is what we're built for. If what you need is one fixed-price build and then silence, we're probably more agency than you want.
